According to the City of Coral Gables, it's the second installation in the 2026 Giralda Sky series, following "Cielo Tejido, A Woven Sky," a canopy of handwoven textiles created by artisan women from Etzatlán, Mexico that hung over the plaza from May through July. The rotating series — a follow-up to the wildly photographed Umbrella Sky of years past — is part of the city's push to keep downtown Coral Gables a cultural destination, not just a business district. Last Call for Miami Spice

Miami Spice 2026 runs through September 30, so there's exactly one month left to take advantage of it. The Newest Tables Around the Mile

The 2026 opening wave has kept rolling through summer. The splashiest arrivals sit at 100 Miracle Mile, where Palm Beach's Ember Group landed a three-in-one: Buccan, chef Clay Conley's wood-fired flagship; Imoto, its Japanese sushi-and-small-plates sibling on the Galiano Street side; and the grab-and-go Buccan Sandwich Shop. A few doors down at 98 Miracle Mile, Michelin-starred chef Shingo Akikuni's Stand serves egg salad sandwiches on house-baked shio pan, matcha, and bento boxes in a 24-seat daytime café — a legitimately great coffee-meeting alternative. Elsewhere in the Gables, Casa Vialetto is back on Alhambra Circle in a cozier format after closing last year, and Miami New Times reports that Star Burger, a smash-burger spot from the Estrella Insurance family using grass-fed beef, is now open on SW Eighth Street. What's Coming Next

The pipeline is arguably even bigger than what's already open. Zuccaly, an 8,000-square-foot Italian food hall with Roman-style pizza, a pasta station, and charcoal grilling across six stations, is slated for The Plaza Coral Gables on Palermo Avenue. Moxies — the Canadian chain already busy in Brickell — is planning an 18,800-square-foot, two-story flagship at 93 Miracle Mile with seating for nearly 400, a rooftop terrace, and private dining rooms, targeting a late-2027 debut on the site of a former Navarro pharmacy, according to Miami New Times. And Time Out Miami reports that Quintín Ultramarinos, the all-day gourmet market and restaurant from Madrid's Barrio de Salamanca, will anchor the ground floor of the Ponce Park development in early 2028. In a Miami office market where amenities increasingly decide where companies land, the Gables' restaurant bench keeps getting deeper.
