October in the Gables: Gallery Night, ¡Salud! Miami & Bagel News
October around Miracle Mile: Gallery Night and Giralda Live tonight, ¡Salud! Miami cocktail month, and new restaurants near office space in Coral Gables.
October has arrived in Coral Gables, and the neighborhood around Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza is kicking off the month at full speed. Tonight brings a First Friday double-header, a month-long citywide cocktail celebration is underway, and one of the most talked-about names in American bagels just put a Miracle Mile address on its map. If you work in — or are shopping for — office space Coral Gables has to offer, here's what's happening steps from your desk this month.
Tonight: Gallery Night and Giralda Live, Back to Back
The first Friday of the month is the best night to be in downtown Coral Gables, and October 2 is no exception. According to the City of Coral Gables events calendar, Gables Gallery Night runs from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight, with galleries and art venues across downtown opening their doors for exhibitions, live music, and refreshments. October's participating venues include Leica Store Miami with a photography exhibition, H. Benitez Fine Art Gallery, and The Americas Collection. The city encourages visitors to hop between galleries using the free trolley or Freebee on-demand vehicles.
Overlapping with Gallery Night, Giralda Live takes over Giralda Plaza (120 Giralda Ave.) from 7 to 11 p.m., with live music from 8 to 10, alfresco dining at the plaza's restaurants, and local artist and vendor pop-ups. For teams based nearby, it's an easy built-in happy hour: close the laptop at 6, walk a block or two, and the evening plans itself.
¡Salud! Miami Turns October Into Cocktail Month
Running October 1–31, ¡Salud! Miami is a citywide cocktail celebration with more than 75 participating venues across the county, as reported by MiamiCurated. Expect special menus and featured drinks at bars and restaurants throughout the month — a timely excuse to try a new spot on Giralda Plaza or Merrick Way after work. If you're entertaining clients this month, it's worth asking whether your go-to spot is participating; our guide to hosting clients in Coral Gables covers the standby venues that rarely miss.
A D.C. Bagel Favorite Is Coming to Miracle Mile
The headline opening news this month looks ahead to December: Call Your Mother, the Washington, D.C.-born "Jew-ish" bagel shop and deli, is taking over the former Bodega Taqueria space at 317 Miracle Mile, per MiamiCurated. Co-founders Daniela Moreira and Andrew Dana are bringing their signature malt-boiled bagels and stacked sandwiches — including the "Jetski" and "DelRay Club" — to a brightly colored teal, pink, and yellow storefront. It's the brand's first South Florida location, and it lands squarely in the morning-coffee-and-bagel radius of hundreds of Gables offices.
That announcement adds to a dining pipeline that has been building all year on and around the Mile: Buccan and Imoto at 100 Miracle Mile, David Chang's Fuku fried-chicken concept in its first standalone Florida location, Ecuadorian newcomer El Ñaño at 339 Miracle Mile, and the Zuccaly Italian food hall at Plaza Coral Gables. We rounded up the fall scene in more detail in our fall Miracle Mile guide.
Why This Matters If You Office in the Gables
Lifestyle amenities aren't a side note in the Miami office market — they're a leasing driver. Companies choosing between submarkets increasingly weigh what employees and clients can walk to, and few corridors in South Florida can match the density of restaurants, galleries, and events packed into the blocks around Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza. An office rental Coral Gables address means client lunches, after-work events, and recruiting tours all happen within a five-minute stroll — no causeway traffic, no parking garage odyssey. It's a big part of why demand for executive suites Coral Gables wide has stayed healthy even as other submarkets soften.
