Imoto Opens on Miracle Mile: Clay Conley Completes His Gables Trio
Imoto is now open at 100 Miracle Mile. New restaurants near office space in Coral Gables this fall: Bonsai Sushi, La Pecora Bianca and Call Your Mother.
If you work along Miracle Mile, the corner of Miracle Mile and Galiano just became one of the best dining blocks in Miami. Chef Clay Conley has opened Imoto at 100 Miracle Mile, completing a three-concept run that already includes Buccan and the Buccan Sandwich Shop — and it's only one of several openings reshaping the restaurant map around office space in Coral Gables this fall.
Imoto: the third piece of the Conley trio
According to Miami Herald reporting this week, Imoto is now open at 100 Miracle Mile at Galiano Street, right around the corner from Buccan. It's the second location of Conley's Palm Beach original, and it's deliberately more intimate than its big sibling: a smaller dining room with banquette seating, a sushi bar, and a cocktail bar.
The menu leans on Conley's years living and working in Tokyo — Asian-inspired small plates and sushi rather than a traditional omakase format. Think crispy Peking duck tacos, wagyu beef bao buns, hamachi crispy rice, lomo saltado gyoza, tuna foie sliders, and maitake mushroom and pork belly fried rice, alongside nigiri and rolls. Hours are dinner-only for now: 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, until 10:30 on Friday and Saturday.
For anyone with executive suites in Coral Gables, the practical read is this: Buccan handles the client lunch and the big dinner, the Sandwich Shop handles the desk lunch, and Imoto now covers the after-work drink that turns into dinner — all within one address.
Also new (or nearly new) on and around the Mile
Imoto isn't arriving alone. Edible South Florida's running list of new and reopened restaurants shows just how busy the Mile has been: Bonsai Sushi, a Japanese-Venezuelan sushi concept, is opening at 111 Miracle Mile this October, joining recent arrivals like Fuku (fried chicken, 135 Miracle Mile), Maiz y Agave (Oaxacan, 375 Miracle Mile), and La Pata Gorda (Ecuadorian seafood, 232 Miracle Mile).
A block over on Giralda, Arcano continues to anchor the pedestrian plaza's pan-Hispanic dining scene — a reliable option for a working lunch that doesn't require moving your car. And at The Plaza on Ponce, the Zuccaly food hall and its neighbors keep pulling office crowds; we covered that opening in our early-October dining roundup.
What's coming next
Two dates to put on the calendar. According to Edible South Florida, La Pecora Bianca — the New York Italian favorite — opens at the Shops at Merrick Park on November 2. And MiamiCurated reports that Call Your Mother, the Washington, D.C.-born "Jew-ish" bagel shop and deli, is set to open its first South Florida location in December at 317 Miracle Mile, in the former Bodega Taqueria space, bringing malt-boiled bagels and stacked sandwiches to the heart of downtown. For a neighborhood where the breakfast meeting is a genuine business ritual, a serious bagel shop on the Mile is no small thing.
Cuban stalwart Havana Harry's is also due back this fall after its renovation — a reopening the whole Gables has been waiting on.
One last call for ¡Salud! Miami
If you haven't used it yet, ¡Salud! Miami — the countywide cocktail month with deals at more than 75 venues — runs through October 31, per MiamiCurated. Several Coral Gables bars and restaurants are participating, which makes this the cheapest week of the year to schedule that overdue team happy hour. Why the restaurant boom matters for your office decision
The Miami office market gets measured in rents and vacancy, but amenity density is what tenants actually feel day to day. Every opening like Imoto or Call Your Mother makes office rental in Coral Gables more valuable at the margin: recruiting is easier when candidates walk out of an interview onto a restaurant row, client meetings are simpler when the reservation is two blocks away, and teams come into the office more when lunch is worth the trip. It's a big part of why furnished office Miami searches keep landing companies in the Gables rather than in districts where the streets empty at 6 p.m.
Put your office in the middle of it
Gables Executive Offices sits steps from Miracle Mile, which means every opening in this article is effectively an extension of your workplace. Our furnished executive suites come with reception service, conference rooms, and flexible terms — so you can sign this week and be hosting clients at Imoto by next.
